Orlando Hotels Add More Meeting Space

The opening of two new hotels in Orlando not only added guest rooms-but added meeting space as well. The Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort, which opened in August, offers 37,750 sq. ft. of meeting and event space in an unparalleled lakeside setting. With eight meeting rooms plus two event lawns, two ballrooms and numerous outdoor terraces, options abound for innovative meetings and events.

With the opening of the 394-room B Resort & Spa in the Downtown Disney resort area, an additional 25,000 sq. ft. of conference and meeting space with a variety of flexible floor plans has been added. There are two ballrooms totaling over 14,000 sq. ft. of space, 11 breakout rooms and a 5,000 sq. ft. terrace for outdoor events.

The 1,000-room Loews Sapphire Falls Resort, opening summer 2016, will add another 131,000 sq. ft. of meeting space. Plus, an air-conditioned, covered bridge will connect Loews Sapphire Falls Resort with Loews Royal Pacific Resort, already the largest meeting hotel at Universal Orlando. TheLoews Royal Pacific Resort will greatly expand its meeting and event space from 85,000 square feet to more than 140,000 square feet in 2015. Together, the two resorts will have 272,000 sq. ft. of combined meeting space.

Other hotel updates include the Westin Orlando, Sheraton Lake Buena Vista and Wyndham Orlando.

Westin Orlando Universal Boulevard opened the spectacular Lotus Ballroom, expanding the hotel's meeting space by 5,394 sq. ft. The 13,506 sq. ft. of total meeting space accommodates group meetings of 300 attendees and receptions of 500. With the completion of a $26-million renovation, the Sheraton Lake Buena Vista Resort welcomed its new Royal Palm Ballroom, which holds 600 guests. The 490-room resort now offers 13,000 sq. ft. of elegant indoor meeting space. Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive has more than 60,000 sq. ft. of newly renovated, customizable, flexible meeting space, 32 multi-functional meeting rooms, including two grand ballrooms. From the majestic 18,480 sq. ft. Palms Ballroom, with seating for up to 1,500 people, to the 520-square-foot Azalea Room accommodating 16. The resort is the perfect place for meetings of all sizes.
