The state-of-the-art Orange County Convention Center and one-of-a-kind experiences aren’t the only reasons Orlando has ranked as Cvent’s No. 1 meetings destination for five straight years. Our success can also be attributed to unique offsite venues perfect for private events that your attendees will never forget — including these standouts!

Morimoto Asia and More at Disney Springs®

Located at Disney Springs®, Morimoto Asia offers a one-of-a-kind dining experience, including exhibition kitchens that provide behind-the-scenes views into traditions like Peking duck carving and dim sum. The restaurant’s massive, two-story interior includes glittering, 20-foot-long chandeliers, Shanghai-influenced lounges, private dining spaces, and a second-level sushi bar and lounge with a separate entrance.

However, Morimoto Asia isn’t the only unique eatery where you can host an unforgettable private event at Walt Disney World® Resort’s dining, shopping and entertainment district. Other top choices for meeting planners include celebrity-chef restaurants such as José Andrés’ JALEO and Art Smith’s Homecomin’ Florida Kitchen, as well as wildly imaginative options like The Edison.

Red Coconut Club at Universal CityWalk

Universal CityWalk at Universal Orlando Resort

Red Coconut Club is a premier nightclub and ultra-lounge at Universal CityWalk, where you can take in the stars on the balcony, mellow out at intimate inside tables, or mix with lively crowds around the bars. The décor is a little bit 1950s Vegas, a little bit Cuban, and a little bit Polynesian-tiki retro with vintage couches and bongo-shaped bar stools.

You’ll find three different bars spread across the club’s two levels, featuring signature martinis and specialty drinks, an extensive wine list, and VIP table service. It’s one of many nightlife and dining options at Universal CityWalk, which is located at the nexus of Universal Orlando Resort’s theme parks.

GuideWell Innovation Center

Located in Orlando’s Lake Nona neighborhood, about 20 minutes from Orlando International Airport, (MCO), the GuideWell Innovation Center is a 92,000-square foot facility designed to support the community’s medical partners with state-of-the-art office and laboratory space. More importantly to event planners, it also serves as a singularly innovative function space for groups of any kind, and particularly those engaged in medical and scientific pursuits.

Options include The Gallery, which showcases rotating exhibits and the latest technological solutions and is perfect for dramatic productions. The Theater, a 260-seat theater-in-the-round that’s featured in this blog’s cover photo, is ideal for viewing video productions, 3D renderings and simulations. Finally, The Garage’s setup is a go-to for groups who want to brainstorm, with ample smartboards, rolling whiteboards and advanced technology — not to mention a supply of LEGO bricks!

In downtown Orlando, enjoy dazzling performances at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, home to the Orlando Ballet and a robust schedule of Broadway productions. Headliners also regularly include nationally celebrated musicians, comedians and public speakers.

As a meeting or event venue, the Dr. Phillips Center is extremely versatile. Groups can rent the entire facility or reserve sections, and spaces can be reconfigured for a variety of purposes. For instance, a hospitality company transformed the space into cocktail bars and sampling stations, each featuring custom beverages corresponding with the company’s branding. One area of the center was transformed into a speakeasy, while another was a coffee bar serving frozen caffeinated concoctions and desserts. In short, the possibilities extend far beyond an evening of theater.
