Inside Drawn to Life by Cirque du Soleil & Disney®

Unicarians performance at Drawn to Life by Cirque du Soleil & Disney

This mesmerizing production doesn't just tell a story — it creates a seamless digital canvas where performers interact with animated worlds in real time. Beyond the stage, an intrepid team of projection, tracking and lighting technicians manage the technology that helps to bring animation to life magically for every performance

Drawn to Life’s projection technology enables the team to treat the entire stage as a dynamic 3D canvas, ensuring that projected animations wrap perfectly around set pieces, performers and moving elements. With an advanced tracking system, technicians can keep tabs on performers and set pieces in real time, allowing projected content to interact naturally with moving elements.

Tracking all those artists and objects is no small feat — and neither is ensuring that the audience can see every move. The lighting team uses a sophisticated system that handles hundreds of moving lights and LED fixtures for every show. With the help of a state-of-the-art console, operators can synchronize lighting cues with projection effects, music and moving scenic elements, creating flawless integrated transitions between real and animated worlds.

It really is a world Drawn to Life, thanks in part to the magic of tech.
