The Orange County Convention Center exemplifies its commitment to environmental stewardship and is nationally recognized for its green initiatives, social responsibility and long-term environmental impact on the community.
Key accomplishments in this area include the following:
• The OCCC is the largest USBGC Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) Gold Certified Convention Center in the world for its North/South building.
• The OCCC is the first convention center in the U.S. to receive ISO certification for the implementation of an Environmental Management System (EMS).
• The OCCC is the third convention center in the world to be APEX/ASTM Environmentally Sustainable Meeting Standard certified.
What’s more, the OCCC works closely with event organizers and guests to support and execute green events, procedures and efforts. It is also dedicated to increasing the overall sustainability of the entire convention district. Additionally, an onsite Sustainability Coordinator manages all in-house sustainability efforts and assists with any client needs or requests.
The Grand Concourse Expansion at the Orange County Convention Center is a $560 million project that is slated to begin in 2026 and conclude in 2029. It will add an additional 44,000 square feet of meeting space to the convention center, as well as a 100,000-square-foot ballroom, among other improvements.
