In July, Walt Disney World® Resort added another magical reason to meet in Orlando with the debut of the brand-new Gran Destino Tower at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. The result of a two-year expansion project, the tower adds an additional 3,000 square feet to the resort’s 220,000 square feet of existing meeting and event space, further positioning the property as a premier business hotel in Cvent’s No. 1 U.S. meeting destination.

Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort: Bigger, Better & Bolder Meetings
For Walt Disney World Resort, updating Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort wasn’t just about adding more event space. Rather, it was about reimagining the property to better celebrate the rich cultures and vibrant landscapes of Spain, Mexico and the American Southwest, both through contemporary design and Old World traditions.
The focal point of those efforts, Gran Destino Tower, now serves as the resort’s entrance. Named after and drawing inspiration from the classic Disney film, Destino, it rises dramatically above the southeastern shores of the resort’s 22-acre lake, Lago Dorado.
In addition to 545 modern guestrooms and suites, Gran Destino Tower features a grand, two-story lobby, as well as new meeting venues and a rooftop restaurant and lounge offering spectacular views of Walt Disney World Resort.
Expanded Meeting Space at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort
Naturally, meeting planners will be most interested in Gran Destino Tower’s new event space. It includes a 24-seat boardroom and the 2,859-square-feet Lantana room, the latter of which divides into three smaller rooms. The Lantana room is adjoined by a 1,674-square-foot pre-function space that features a show kitchen.
The new options join 220,000 square feet of event space in the resort’s original building. The existing space encompasses the 85,765-square-foot Veracruz Exhibit Hall with capacity for up to 460 10x10-foot booths, 60,214-square-foot Coronado Ballroom for up to 6,680 guests, 21,160-square-foot Fiesta Ballroom for up to 2,650 guests, 45 dynamic breakout rooms, 10 dedicated meeting-planner offices, five permanent registration counters, and private patios and lakeside space for outdoor events.
And that’s not all! When you meet at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, you can also count on Wi-Fi in the meeting and convention facilities, a full-service business center, 12 loading docks, and an onsite marshaling yard that connects to the entire convention center. Not to mention quick access to all the ways to play at Walt Disney World Resort’s theme parks, water parks and Disney Springs®!
New Dining & Nightlife at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort
With the addition of Gran Destino Tower, Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort now boasts 11 dining and nightlife options. Leading the way is the brand-new Tolédo — Tapas, Steak & Seafood. The rooftop, table-service restaurant focuses on dishes and small plates inspired by the flavors of Spain.
Adjacent to Tolédo, the Dahlia Lounge encompasses a convivial room and breathtaking outdoor terrace. Here, your attendees can enjoy wines from California and Spain, as well as handcrafted cocktails.
The second new restaurant at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort is Three Bridges Bar & Grill. Located on an island on Lago Dorado, it’s connected to the rest of the resort by three convenient walkways.
On the ground floor of Gran Destino Tower’s two-story lobby, the Barcelona Lounge offers coffee and breakfast fare in the morning, transitioning to a cocktail lounge as the day progresses. And on the 15th floor, Chronos Club and its lake views are perfect for unwinding and enjoying light refreshments throughout the day.
Other dining and nightlife options at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort include Maya Grill, Rix Sports Bar & Grill, El Mercado de Coronado, Café Rix, Laguna Bar and Siestas Cantina.
