Visit Orlando President & CEO George Aguel recently spoke to Successful Meetings magazine about Orlando’s record-breaking 2017 and what’s next for the destination.

From convention center improvements to new theme parks, Orlando is on the move according to Successful Meetings magazine. In a new feature, Visit Orlando President & CEO George Aguel spoke with the publication about why Orlando's meetings, conventions and events sector is off and running following a record year in 2017. You can read the article here.

Aguel isn’t the only one talking about Orlando’s unique ability to host unforgettable meetings. Between our state-of-the-art convention center, the world’s greatest theme parks and attractions, more than a dozen award-winning celebrity chefs, and 7 million-plus square feet of meeting space, it’s no wonder Orlando has been Cvent’s Top Meetings Destination for three straight years.

We never stop improving, either. Since 1995, our hotel inventory has jumped by more than 40 percent, with more than 121,000 rooms now available at a variety of price points. Passenger volume has increased by over 72 percent to more than 44 million annually at the top-rated Orlando International Airport, which offers nonstop service from more than 130 domestic and international locations. And Orlando — Theme Park Capital of the World® — is continually welcoming significant openings and expansions at our theme parks and attractions.

Looking forward, as part of $1 billion in multi-year investments for developments along International Drive, several new restaurant and entertainment options are in the works for the coming year. In short, there’s never been a better time to meet in Orlando.
